Joy Within
Love Tribe! How are we all feeling? Are you putting into daily practice your connection to Spirit? We are creating the change by doing things differently. The same ways of doing things will not suffice any longer. You have to commit to growing your inner structures in order to amplify what you are here to do and be and become. There literally is no other way.
My boyfriend and I were having a discussion at breakfast over the weekend about joy. I am working on my keynote speech which is entitled The Joy Formula. (I shared with you last week around the three ways to manifesting joy!) As we were discussing different aspects around this, he brought up such an important point between external and internal joy that I wanted to give you a preview here.
External joy is that which we source outside of ourselves. It’s that short-lived, fleeting momentary high that is dependent on person, place and things. It’s those pair of shoes you order online that makes you excited and then once you receive them, you need the next best thing in order to keep you occupied and happy. It’s the video games you play that allow you to escape for a while, but then once you emerge from technology, you feel off-center again. It’s that drive to have a relationship but then once you have that person in your life, you start to find characteristics wrong with them and are not happy with the person you chose. There is certainly nothing wrong with enjoying life and looking forward to having things in your life. Life is meant to be lived in joy and in flow. But if you are continually sourcing from external factors, you will never be complete and whole in the way Spirit intended your life to be.
As I have said many times and bears repeating here, life is an inward game. It is about your soul growth and the
connection you have to you and to Source. Internal joy is what will truly allow us to live the life we intended and will allow us to fulfill our destiny promise to ourselves, our soul tribe, and the planet. Accessing internal joy is not dependent on person, place or things. This type of internal movement isn’t always visible in the worldly sense. You won’t receive an achievement certificate once you get there, and you won’t be able to find it in other people. And there is nothing more fulfilling than when you have laid down the foundation within yourself to live in a state of freedom, flow and surrender. You are so connected within yourself that you actually don’t want the pair of shoes. Sure – a new pair when you need them, but how many pairs do you have in your closet that you don’t actually need or wear?
The Joy Formula is learning the relationship between Love and the life you desire. Many times we have the wrong formula for deriving joy out of our lives. If you are sourcing from external measures, the joy is fleeting and you often find yourself in disappointment. You have the quick high, but then it disappears. Then you start to have a false belief that sustainable joy in not actually possible. And this is farthest from the truth.
Anchoring into your internal joy and sourcing from the inner castles is where we should be placing our attention and focus. As I defined last week, internal joy is found through living with an open heart, doing acts
of service, and growing your spiritual capacity with God. Then when life throws you a curve ball, you can handle it with grace, love, and compassion. You won’t get thrown under by elections or what others are doing or not doing. All those pairs of shoes you don’t wear? Maybe it’s time to donate them to others who can use them. Instead of playing video games, you take a walk outside in nature instead. Turn off the TV and meditate for a half hour. This creates and lays down the foundation internally for you to continue to move in the direction your soul wants you to go. This is how we become the change. This is how we do things differently when nothing but more of the same is being presented to us. It is not hopeless. In fact, just the opposite. The power of the Love vibration is 1000x more powerful than anything that can come our way. It’s the light that dissolves the dark, and we can only start with ourselves.
So if you are called to do so, I invite you to take a look at your life and find one thing this week you can start to shift noticing where you source from external factors to find your joy to making a different choice to anchoring into your internal joy. Choose one thing from the three categories of living with an open heart, acts of service, and connection to Spirit. You become the change through small steps making one new choice at a time. I can’t wait to see how these different changes create the momentum of change for you.
